Weekly Update July 5

A big week offensively for Mark and me, and Andrew is tied for first place for the first time since May 5th thanks to Caleb passing him in RBI.

Ouch. Tough week for my offense, with only 13 runs and 12 RBI outside of the 8 homers. Hopefully my new and improved CI will help my production. That said, things will be very, very interesting from here on out. Bill has a ton of points to gain in strikeouts, and he should gain those soon, but I might be able to make up more ground in runs, HR, and RBI. Of course, Mr Bill's preposterous number of reliever wins certainly gives him a leg up in the pitching categories- he has maybe 1 point to gain in wins, 4 in Ks, and not much else. If I had to guess, I'd say 62 is the magic number.

Bah, my spreadsheet tells me otherwise. I'd say I have a fair shot at gaining some ground in batting average (.274 currently, with Caleb at .279 and Andrew at .280), saves (18 currently with 2 closers, Spencer at 34 with no closers), and runs (521, Kate at 535). Because of the volatility in some of the rate stats I feel like I have an outside shot at gaining points in ERA (which, without ever starting Trevor Cahill would be 4.04; currently at 4.2, Caleb at 3.72 and Mark at 3.62). While neither is particularly likely, Mark's smoke and mirrors staff of Blackburn, Millwood, and Washburn could implode without any warning. That said, I don't think I'll catching Luke in either wins (39, Luke at 44) or strikeouts (450, Luke at 481) thanks to King Felix.

let's also note that for the last time ever, I had the most HR this week. I don't expect THAT to be happening again.
