Daily net points

It didn't take as much effort as I initially thought to put together this table, so here are the daily net points for last week. Mark gained or lost 3 or more points 5 of the 7 days last week and half of the teams had a single day where they gained or lost 3 points in a single day.

Daily net points

Thank you, Bill. That does seem like a huige amount of volatility. Could you go back and look at all previous weeks, calculate the average and SD, and let me know if it is statistically significant? (Kidding)

Without any reason to think last week was different for any reason, wouldn't any statistically significant difference just be random (albeit unlikely) variation? Also, the mean change in score for every single day all season long is 0.

However, the mean absolute change (because rotisserie is a zero sum game after all) in score for this last week was much higher than the month of June (1.83 vs 1) despite the fact that you would expect more volatility, especially in rate stats, earlier in the season. This difference was strongly statistically significant (p<0.0001). But as I wrote earlier I'm not sure it means anything besides the fact that last week was rather odd. Also, each team's daily absolute change isn't an independent measurement - if Mark gains 5 points in a day it means that over the next few days his score is likely to decrease substantially.

Oh, I know it's not really signifying anything, I just thought it was odd. Thanks for checking it out.
