The talent may be migrating out of the AL a bit early this year. Losing
Mark DeRosa wouldn't be quite as bad as losing CC Sabathia, Manny Ramirez, and Casey Kotchman, but it would definitely hurt Mark. And I can't wait to 4.5 months of drooling over Jake Peavy on the waiver wire.

Why would I need Peavy when I have FRANCISCO LIRIANO (vomit).
Well, you wouldn't get Peavy anyway, Caleb has the #1 waiver priority. Looks like he isn't coming to the AL anyway, because he doesn't want the chance to play on a good team (or is holding out for a better one?). At least he has the common sense to realize that 1. The NL is a much, much weaker offensive league, 2. He gets a massive bonus to his stats by pitching in PETCO. Of course, with $8 million this season, and another $48 million through 2012 (not even including his gigantic $22 million option year that you would assume would get picked up as a condition for the trade) his performance really doesn't matter. Towers and Moorad must be awfully frustrated right now.
wait, wait we decided we are not allowing that anyway, right?
Yeah, NL players are off limits.
We might want to maintain a list of players that have come over from the NL, so nobody picks up Adam Kennedy or something like that.
Adam Kennedy is actually eligible, FYI. He was released by the Cardinals in February and signed a minor league deal with the Rays before ending up in Oakland.
