David Ortiz, for example, has been worth -$5.2 million to the Red Sox and is just outdone by Delmon Young's -$5.4 million. Including defense, Delmon Young may very well be the worst regular in all of major league baseball. The table below is sorted by batting runs above replacement (or, in the case below replacement). Note that due to positional adjustments and defense the worst hitters aren't necessarily the least valuable players.
Of the 20 worst offensive players in the AL, 17 are owned in are league and one was drafted and later cut (Punto). 15 of these 17 players are starters, 5 were keepers (but may not be for very much longer), and 2 were drafted within the first 3 rounds of the draft. I "lead" the way with two horribly underperforming keepers.

As I recall I took Delmon Young in the 7th round. I can't even bear to look at who I could have taken instead...I should really stop trusting baseball prospectus.
And I actually do like our league depth wise. It has made cutting players a lot more difficult and although it's frustrating, I think it's a bit more fun. I think everyone is struggling to find good pitching off of the waiver wire..
I agree with you Spencer about the depth I just thought it was amusing that almost everyone was owned. Lots of guys on that list are struggling stars who are still getting playing time and I like how you have to make hard decisions about who to keep and who to cut. I hope I've managed to find some good pitching off the waiver wire for this week - Hill, Outman, and Richard are all new pickups for me. They're also all lefties facing the weakest offenses (against lefties) in the AL so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
We'll have to evaluate the depth at the end of the season I think to decide if we want to change the roster size. You don't want people too stuck with crap players but you still want the draft to be meaningful. Also, in this weekly league, you really get kicked hard when you lose a player for a week of injury, are 50/50 for the next week, but the free agents available aren't even full time players. In that sense, I think pitching is the easiest position to fill b/c even a 5th starter can have a good week in the right situation. It's much harder to find that sub par position player who has a decent week based on match ups... So I dunno, the jury is still out on the league's depth for me.
And I really should just be playing Beltre when he is on a road trip... His splits are ridiculous. Last year too.
