I just traded Carlos Correa for Steven Souza. Now I see articles like this one saying that Correa is going to hit 0.260, with 7 hr and 15 sb to go with 70 r+rbi. According to Bill, Eric Karabell just pegged him as the #6 SS in MIXED leagues.
So, wise and powerful members of Durham WHAT, did I make a huge mistake by trading Correa so quickly?

A few stat lines from various sources:
Andy Behrens (Yahoo): 52 R, 11 HR, 48 RBIs, 13 SB, .270 AVG
Brett Talley (Fangraphs): 70R+RBI, 7 HR, 14 SB, .260 AVG
Eric Karabell (ESPN):.280 AVG and his "optimistic hope is for double-digit power and speed the rest of the way"
That Berens line would make him top 10 our league over a FULL SEASON.
I don't think you made a mistake. If I were in your position I would rather have a known entity than a high upside play right now. I know Correa will be a good major league hitter, but it's far from guaranteed that it happens this season at 20 years old, and the way most hitting prospects have been struggling when they first reach the majors recently is pretty worrisome. Trout/Harper/Bryant have spoiled us a bit I think. It seems like most prospects, even highly thought of guys like Bogaerts, have a long adjustment period in the majors. You could have sat on him for a while to see if he performed as expected and you might have gotten more than Souza for him if you had, but I think it's equally likely that his value will drop.
Meanwhile, I'm investing heavily in youth. Ed-Rod, Rodon, DeShields, Gallo, and Correa will either pull me out of my 8th place pit or at least give me a couple of interesting keeper options for next year.
Guys I can't believe that my team isn't terrible...yet.
Correa already has a HR and a SB. Boo!
Well, I think we all can say that yes. You made a terrible, terrible mistake.
Yes. It was a terrible mistake. It may have cost me the championship.
