It was a hell of a run. His team (thanks to injuries, mostly) gave me a bit of hope at the end, but he held on. It was a nice run by Andrew, especially working the wire (Kluber, Farquhar, Martin, Keuchel) and holding it together despite Cabrera, Mauer, and Ellsbury all missing time.
Yeah, I must say my team was saved my wire luck for the most part. Donaldson, McLouth, Martin, Kluber, and Farquhar were all key, and coming in to the season I had only heard of two of them. I almost didn't even pick up McLouth- I had picked up Reimold the week before, but he got hurt so I cut him to add McLouth.
Bill had me really nervous there until the very end, when my offense managed a couple of good days to boost my average and runs.
Other amazing things I did- kept Jake Arrieta over Chris Tillman (oops), traded Josh Donaldson for pitching (not really needed), and managed to win stolen bases by 46 (ugh).
Congratulations, Andrew. Turned out that decision to trade for Janssen was pretty huge. Janssen provided Andrew with 12 saves down the stretch, and had Andrew rejected my trade offer I likely would've traded Janssen to Bill for Brett Gardner instead. All else equal, Andrew losing those 12 saves would've been enough to change the outcome.
I was glad to see Bill make some trades and make a pretty impressive run down the stretch. For a while it looked like Andrew would run away with the championship. Finishing 2nd two years in a row has to be frustrating, but it's pretty impressive.

Great effort by Bill, too, who made the right trade(s) to close the gap and almost steal it from Andrew at the end.
