A pennant race?

After a season where it looked like there was a dominant favorite the entire time (Caleb for awhile, then Luke), we now have three teams fighting it out for first place.  Luke at 62.5, me at 60.5, and Caleb at 59.  I had pretty much written myself off at third, but thanks to Beltre (14 HR in the last month!) I'm right in the thick of it.  Gosh, why can't the Red Sox have players like that?

I feel I should point out that (especially given the amount of turnover over the last few weeks), Mark, at 54, is within shooting distance of the top 3.

Beat me to it, Caleb!

It would help my cause if Andrew could somehow catch Luke in steals and batting average...

Glad to see things get interesting down the stretch. Should be a fun final 2 weeks.

Bill tied for first today!

Wow! That was unexpected. Average is all over the place, and I might be able to catch Kate in strikeouts. It's going to be a hell of a finish!

This is so weird. Before, it was straightforward what I needed to root for: Luke do good, Caleb do bad. Now I find myself having to cheer for Caleb in batting average!

Three teams between .270 and .271 right now. Standings are changing with each at bat!

Oh, at Luke at .2696. Just nuts. Average is going to decide it, one way or another, I think.

Yeah, that's definitely the key category. I'm also neck-and-neck with Caleb in wins, and with Caleb and Mark in WHIP. The 4 of us are also within 9 runs of each other.

One hell of a pennant race so far, though Mark's chances took a hit with a down day at the plate and a total meltdown from Bailey. It's pretty amazing how much things are swinging this late in the season.

Mark would need everything to go his way in every category in which he is in striking distance in order to have a shot at 1st. RBIs and SBs are done, and he is already in 1st in Ws. For the other 7 categories, it's conceivably possible for him to take 1st in Rs, 2nd in HR, 1st in AVG, 4th in Ks, 1st in SVs, 5th in ERA, and 3rd in WHIP. All of that happening would get him 12 points, while knocking me and Bill down by 2 each. Mark would then need to find another 1.5 points to tie both me and Bill, meaning that he would need some help from the rest of the league to pass me and Bill in some categories.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer or anything....

Clinging to a half point lead! Also, what's our tiebreaker?

Hmm, how about home runs? :D
