I know my least favorite part of the season
That would have to be watching the Red Sox in the opening series against Detroit. That first loss was understandable, but these last two have been completely fucking awful. At this point they have blown three ties or leads in the 9th inning or later, in spite of only playing three games, one of which was a 10-0 laugher! Now THAT is a bullpen.

Agreed. Didn't think memories of September would come back so vividly so fast. It wasn't even like they gave up a 1 run lead - they had a three run lead followed by a two run lead and still blew it....
So how many people do you think had the over/under on calls for Bard to the bullpen BEFORE he even had his first start?
Of course people are going to say that it is too early to make any changes, but that means you think that Bobby V made the right decision by sticking Bard in the rotation and making Aceves the closer in the first place?
I've already heard people calling for Bard as the closer. But it's not like the Sox are loaded with quality starters. That's one of the reasons we saw Padilla for 4 innings yesterday. I think they really need to give Bard an extended trial as a starter before they start moving him around. A good starter is just more valuable than an excellent reliever, and Bard was very sharp in his final ST start. The other thing that gives me hope is that it's not just Bobby V making the decision.
As far as the bullpen goes, you might not be able to move Padilla simply because he's the long-man now, unless you swap Aceves and Padilla. There's not a ton of help down on the farm, but I have irrationally high hopes for Bowden and would love to see him get some high leverage innings.
How about a Darnell McDonald, Ryan Sweeney, Cody Ross outfield? How does that rank?
Yeah, Bowden DFAed, so much for that. That outfield is pretty damn ugly, but if Ortiz keeps doing his PapiSMASH routine, it shouldn't matter too much.
