Congrats, Bill
Let's not let the inevitability of the result obscure the accomplishment: hell of a year and championship, and a few years coming. Cutthroat trading to make sure it happened. Congrats are in order.
You know, I'm not certain how much of Bill's cut throat trading made it happen. I think he had a great draft and an amazing set of keepers, more than the trades. His Kinsler trade was important, but don't forget about the Morales/Saito trade.
Let's not overlook the key addition of Papelbon as well. Young didn't work out, but I was able to turn SP depth into useful parts and shore up weaknesses elsewhere through minor deals. And thanks for bringing up the Morales/Saito trade, asshole. You can't win them all, although for whatever reason Caleb always seems to get the better of me in trades. Floyd and Young, Saito and Morales, hell, he even got Andre Johnson from me in the first year of the football league.
Well, no, I'm not bitter. I am disappointed that I gave up all that keeper depth, and didn't win, obviously. But my point was simply that I didn't agree with Spencer. Your team's success wasn't based on trades (which helped you some, but not a ton), but rather an excellent draft and top notch keepers. You didn't get a ton of value off the wire (unlike last season, where you got guys like Quentin, but I think your wire pickups might have been more important than your trades (any move involving Brad Penny excluded for obvious reasons).

Also, you're just bitter because your cut throat trading only managed to slit your own throat.

We definitely shouldn't forget about the Morales/Saito trade. Let's be sure to remember that one, and bring it up in the future as much as possible.
But yeah, congrats Bill. For a little while there I thought you would always be a bridesmaid, but now you're finally a bride. Good work.
So, Bill, you going to throw your bouquet or what?
Congrats Bill! Please give Lester a good home.
As the Japanese say, congraturation!
