Belichick ought to be able to come up with some coverages and blitz packages to mess with Favre - show man, but play zone, force him to move out of the pocket, etc. I bet he regresses pretty hard this year. 2007-8 was a great year for him because he didn't try and do too much. The Jets need him to be superman, just like the mediocre Packers teams of the last few years. That didn't work out for them, and I can't imagine it will work out well for the Jets.
The media really seems to have turned against Favre, and I can't say I disagree with a lot of their sentiments. He's a grown man who has been through this every single year for the past 15 years, and he still can't figure out how he's going to feel in July? This has been going on for the past 5 years. I mean,give me a fucking break. He totally overplayed his hand though. For a guy who says he wanted to win, ending up on the Jets is pretty sad. I imagine this will go down like Mays on the Mets, and will be mostly forgotten in 10 or 15 years.
Hmm. Since you already have Brady and Adrian Peterson (Taylor, I'd mock you to your face for that trade, but you don't even read this blog), the last week of August sounds like a spectacular time to have the draft. I'm sure an automated program will do a GRAND job with an auction draft.
