Bill's right,

So here's a discussion topic. Not that I can trust any of you for unbiased advice, but just the same:

Salty's up and is the official backup catcher now, and it's estimated that he'll start 2-3 times a week, at most, for now. I drafted Pierzynski to get me through until Salty was called up, and he's done an admiral job of it: 11R, 3HR, 12RBI, .319. But he's AJ Pierzynski. He hit .260 last year. Do I stick with him for now and hope he doesn't regress anytime soon, or do I take my chances on limited starts from Salty?

I think you have to go with Pierzynski until Salty has regular playing time. And AJ is almost certainly going to regress to the mean, but that doesn't matter.
It is extremely hard to put up good counting stats with a part time role. Players like Napoli or Buck can be useful with a part-time role, because you get some of their strengths (HR) and it can minimize terrible batting averages.

yeah the weekly league pretty much eliminates part time players in my mind. other than average, you'd rather have someone playing every day even if they go 0/4 with one walk and a run...Salty would have to be pretty darn productive during those 3 games to make up for a full week of starts. in an ideal world for you, AJ starts to regress when Salty gets more regular playing time. Although hopefully by then Salty is on my team.

Getting him on your team would be most likely accomplished by sending me a trade proposal.
