In 3 weeks and 1 day since this trade took place, Baldelli has done nothing obviously, Cano has been a starter for two weeks, Spencer has started Dye every week, and started Iguchi for the first week and for this current week. Here are the numbers each player put up only during the weeks that he was started, including yesterday.
Dye (3 weeks and 1 day): 14/67, 5 R, 1 HR, 7 RBI, 2 SB, .209 AVG.
Iguchi (1 week and 1 day): 4/26, 2 R, 0 HR, 1 RBI, 0 SB, .154 AVG.
Total (4 player*weeks and 2 player*days): 18/93, 7 R, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 2 SB, .194 AVG.
Cano (2 player*weeks): 16/53, 8 R, 1 HR, 7 RBI, 0 SB, .302 AVG.
So far so good. We'll see what happens in the rest of the season and with the other trades I've made recently. Will it be enough to bring me out of last place? I highly doubt it.
The team log feature is where I got those numbers, it is really handy.

This may work very out for you in the end. I wasn't ready to give up on Dye when this trade was made, which is why I thought it was pretty even. Since then, Dye has actually done worse than he'd been and there is no indication that the white sox will be able to put together a decent offense this season. The fact that Spencer traded a player from one of the best offenses in baseball for a player from the worst shouldn't be overlooked. 40% of your offensive roto stats (runs & rbi) are highly dependent on the players around you.
True, although the White Sox obviously have the potential to be a decent to an above average line-up. At some point in the season, you have to stop counting on that to happen, but Dye hitting clean-up between Thome and Konerko or 5th behind the two of them still has the potential to produce results over the 2nd half (as would a trade of Dye to the Yankees...).
My feeling with Cano is just that he's not that good. He'll be a 300+ hitter at a position that's not particularly deep but that's it. True he bats in a great lineup, but he's at the bottom half, and he doesn't have great power and doesn't have great speed. It's still a case of a trade making sense for both parties - I needed power (I haven't gotten it but we'll see) and Luke needed a better 2b with keeper potential. I think he'd be a fine - not great - keeper so it works well.
